So, I was pretty convinced that if Microsoft were to release Copilot Vision for testing, it would be able to do something simple like help me play Windows Solitaire. Sometimes, Microsoft's new Copilot Vision for Windows feels like a real step forward for useful AI: this emerging Windows technology sees what you see on your screen, allowing you to talk to your PC and ask it for help. Unfortunately, that step ahead is often followed by that cliché: two steps back. Copilot Vision for Windows is, at times, genuinely helpful. Outside of some nostalgic tears by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, the announcement of Copilot Vision for Windows was the highlight of Microsoft's 50th anniversary celebration at the company's Redmond, Washington campus.

AI software provider C3.ai is collaborating with Microsoft (NasdaqGS:MSFT) to enhance its "global customer experience and elevate sales performance using intelligent cloud technology." To achieve this, C3.ai is adopting and deploying Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Sales and Teams, so as to "better prioritize workloads, enhance sales experiences with mixed reality, and manage customer needs with conversation intelligence and sentiment analysis." NVIDIA Corporation (NasdaqGS:NVDA) has completed the acquisition of computer networking firm Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. for $7 billion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon (NasdaqGS:AMZN), has announced the general availability of Amazon Augmented Artificial Intelligence (A2I), described as "a fully managed service that makes it easy to add human review to machine learning predictions to improve model and application accuracy by continuously identifying and improving low confidence predictions." "Today, we're excited to help our customers remove another obstacle to building machine learning applications with the launch of Amazon A2I, which makes it significantly easier and faster to incorporate human judgment into machine learning applications in order to ensure higher quality predictions over a sustained period of time." Accenture Federal Services, a subsidiary of Accenture (NYSE:ACN), has won a $96 million contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to help the latter to automate manual workflows and introduce applied intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities. Shawn Roman, a managing director at AFS who leads the company's work with VA, commented: "Accenture Federal Services is proud to help VA seamlessly transition its existing service management tools to both improve the user experience and increase the business value of solutions. Working with the Service Management Office, we will use human-centered design thinking methods to put the Veteran, clinician, and VA employees at the center of how services are designed and created."

NVIDIA Corporation (NasdaqGS:NVDA) today introduced the TensorRT 7, which is "the seventh generation of the company's inference software development kit" to deliver conversational AI applications. "We have entered a new chapter in AI, where machines are capable of understanding human language in real time. TensorRT 7 helps make this possible, providing developers everywhere with the tools to build and deploy faster, smarter conversational AI services that allow more natural human-to-AI interaction." The company also announced that it will provide the transportation industry with access to its NVIDIA DRIVE deep neural networks (DNNs) for autonomous vehicle development on the NVIDIA GPU Cloud (NGC) container registry. "The AI autonomous vehicle is a software-defined vehicle required to operate around the world on a wide variety of datasets. By providing AV developers access to our DNNs and the advanced learning tools to optimize them for multiple datasets, we're enabling shared learning across companies and countries, while maintaining data ownership and privacy. Ultimately, we are accelerating the reality of global autonomous vehicles."

Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has opened a new innovation hub for mining and energy in Perth, Australia. The hub gives mining and energy companies access to "technology innovations including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, virtual and augmented reality, quantum computing, blockchain and drones". Intel Corporation (NasdaqGS:INTC) has unveiled oneAPI, "a unified and scalable programming model to harness the power of diverse computing architectures in the era of HPC/AI convergence", and "a general-purpose GPU optimized for HPC/AI acceleration based on the Xe architecture".
